Join us as we for a day of advanced skills in preparation for upcoming crevasse rescue field trip, plus grad & Rainier climbs!
This event is targeted for instructors who will serve as team or rope leads on upcoming student climbs, as well as those who will be assisting with belaying at the crevasse rescue field trip. We will demo & practice advanced rescue systems that build on top of C-pulley, plus additional anchor concepts & rappelling. We might have some ice screws to practice placing into ice as well.
Bring full harness, ice axe, helmet, foam pad, weather appropriate clothing, and fingerless gloves for rappelling (if you have them). Feel free to bring any additional crevasse rescue gear you own like cordalette (15-20' of 6mm cord), Microtraxion / Spoc / other progress capture pulleys, extra regular pulleys, extra prussik loops (hero loop sized), ice screws, etc. and you will get to use them.
Event will be at Magnuson Park in Seattle at the ditch near the swimming dock, with plenty of field space to spread out. See map link for nearest parking lot:
