This is a slow-paced snowshoe trip over easy terrain.  If the weather is good, we’ll get an iconic view of The Mountain from Reflection Lake…without the reflection!  Even if weather isn’t great, it will likely be more of a wilderness-type experience than a Paradise-area snowshoe would be on the weekend.

The pace will be about 1 mile per hour, guaranteed to be within everyone’s capabilities on this <4-mile trip with less than 600 feet of elevation gain. This will likely be an out-and-back trip, since avalanche conditions typically preclude a loop trip returning on the (snow-covered) Stevens Canyon Road at this time of year.  First-time snow-shoers are welcome (all area REI stores rent snowshoes)!  Carpools will form at the Auburn Park & Ride (101 15th St NE) departing at 7:30am to arrive at Longmire about the time the gate is opened. Detailed instructions and map will be sent to those registering several days before the trip.

My Mountaineering First Aid cert expired long ago, so I’m looking for someone with WFA to please join us!
