| OSAT Club's new Web
site launched in January, 2005. The new design features dynamically generated pages using ColdFusion. We've created an entire Members section with the ability for members to post and sign up for activities in real time. We are also consolidating our web presence by moving away from 3rd party services and providing these services ourselves, such as the Echo--the OSAT's own listserv. The site is built with Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks; and is scripted using HTML, PHP, and Cold Fusion. This site is optimized for viewing at 800x600 resolution, with 16k colors. The site supports Internet Explorer and Netscape 4.0 and above browsers. To manage the wealth of site information modular elements are dynamically generated to allow for easy updates. Creating the new site required a lot of communication. Over months, input and feedback was gathered from members, the Board of Trusted Servants, outside sources, and volunteer editors. The site has more than 80 pages to serve its 200+ members and the greater recovering outdoor community. Photos on the site are provided by OSAT members, ClimbWashington.com, Microsoft's image gallery, and a few are third party stock photos. Much of the site's layout and navigation is based on our volunteer Web editors' (the Web Sherpa) work, who we'd like to recognize. The following individuals have been instrumental in helping get the site to where it is today: Dax Arroway This is the fourth evolution of this site. The former site and it's two predecessors can be viewed here,
although the links, content, elements, and other qualities might be
outdated or no longer work. |
